June 2009: Staybridge Suites, Newcastle

May 2009: 82 King Street, Manchester

A contractor has now been appointed to undertake the works to 82 King Street and will start on site on 13 July 2009.

May 2009: Rhosneigr, Anglesey

RhosneigrReid Architects has worked with Russell Homes to secure planning consent at appeal for three townhouses at Rhosneigr, Anglesey.

The latest success completes the development which now comprises nine apartments and the three townhouses. Reid designed the overall scheme and was successful with planning consent for the apartments in 2008.

March 2009: Staybridge Suites, Newcastle

Reid Architects' Staybridge Suites for Trinity Hotels in Newcastle reached Practical Completion on the 9th March 2009. The hotel will begin to take guests at the end of April.

March 2009: 82 King Street, Manchester

Reid Architects have been granted Listed Building Consent for the refurbishment of the existing banking hall to the Former Bank of England, 82 King Street – a Grade I Listed Building designed by Charles Robert Cockerell completed in 1846.

The consent forms part of a wider programme of works including the refurbishment of the common areas to the 13 storey office tower that sits behind the banking hall. The aim of the project is to update the building using high quality design and materials to ensure the continued prominence of the building within the Manchester office market.

Work is due to start on site in June 2009.

December 2008: 63 Thomas Street, Manchester

Reid Architects gained planning approval for the refurbishment of 63 Thomas Street, Manchester on 23 December 2008. 

The scheme will involve the complete refurbishment of the building to office accommodation, and insertion of a new mezzanine level to increase floor area. The construction work will begin on the middle of January .

December 2008: Pall Mall Court, Manchester

Reid Architects has obtained planning and listed building consent for Unit 2, Lower Ground Floor within the Grade II listed Pall Mall Court building on King Street, Manchester on 19 December 2008.

The proposals involve change of use of the lower ground floor unit from office to retail, health centre or financial premises, as well as the introduction of a new platform lift and entrance to the lower ground floor accessed from the piazza area. The alterations are intended to maximize the commercial viability of the space.

June 2008: Highfield House, Prestbury

June 2008: The Orchard Planning Permission

May 2008: Commendation for 'Un-built Private Houses 2008'

Moat Cottage received commendation in the 'Un-built Private Houses' category at the MSA Design Awards.

April 2008: Rhosneigr Planning Permission

January 2008: Office opens in Finland

To explore work opportunities Reid Architects has opened a satellite office in Finland which will be operational from 1st January 2008.

December 2007: Hoar Cross, Staffordshire

Reid has obtained planning consent for a single private residence at Hoar Cross in Staffordshire on 11th December 2007. Click here for more information on this project.

December 2007: Quarry Bank, Hurst Lane, Macclesfield

Reid has obtained planning consent for a replacement dwelling in Macclesfield on 10th December 2007. The project value is approximately £450,000.

November 2007: 12-14 Piccadilly Planning Consent

In November the planning application for the redevelopment of the site was given consent at committee. Proposals include creation of 43,000 sq ft of office space. Click here for more information on this project.

November 2007: Cardiff Planning Consent
