The brief to Reid Architects was to bring design quality to the site and the development. We felt that the scheme which had gained consent was disjointed in massing and did not maximize the design potential of the site and improve the aesthetic of the scheme.
Reid Architects have been instructed to prepare design for 9 no. apartments in the position where the consent had been obtained for the previous apartments.
The apartments in concept have the strong linear plan form which allows the sites views to be maximized. The walls of stone cut through the development reaching out to the landscape as they continue down the site. The idea of integrating into the landscape is continued with roof terraces which promote activity and life to the development.
