Reid Architects were invited as part of a limited competition to provide proposals for a new office building.
The site is located on London Road close to Piccadilly Station and comprises an existing Grade II listed building and a gap site adjacent.
The form of the building is folded and sculpted to respect the existing building mass. An interlocking solid and glass L shape informs the concept along with modelling associated to comply with current environmental specification.
The building is clad in copper to enable the shape and form to be unified. Glass and louvres to the south façade in perforated copper protect the key elevation from the sun providing a responsive envelope.
