The Counselling & Family Centre
The Counselling and Family Centre is a charity based in Altrincham, Cheshire.
Reid successfully helped to negotiate lottery funding and peppercorn lease arrangements with Trafford Borough to get replacement premises for a valuable community organisation. The borough provided a fire damaged former dance studio in a parkland setting.
The Counselling and Family Centre provides invaluable community services - support, counselling and help for families and young people with associated childcare and nursery facilities.
Reid re-modelled and extended the existing building to provide a building to satisfy lottery fund warranty standards.
The existing building was completety stripped out and structurally repaired to re-instate fire damaged fabric. The building was then retro-fitted to achieve current building standards including new M+E systems.
The internal re-planning set out a range of accommodation including soundproofed cellular spaces for counselling and telephone help lines together with offices, kitchen and dining with 2 nursery rooms and outdoor play area. The nursery is Ofsted registered.
Reid provided a full RIBA service for refurbishment and new build work including lottery negotiation and interior design.
